Review of Everyday Mindfulness

Review of Everyday Mindfulness by Melissa Steginus

Everyday Mindfulness outlines 15 weeks (or 108 days) of reflection and practice that will help increase awareness of 6 areas of your life; Physical, Emotional, Rational, Spiritual, Occupation, and Network. Melissa Stegninus guides us through this using daily reflection and some simple exercises that vary daily. I noticed many of the daily reflections were not unusual, but things you might already think about in your life every day. While they may seem simplistic, sometimes it’s the simple things that bring us the most wisdom.

Steginus has designed a simple but powerful way to look at your life and be more mindful of your choices.  Sometimes people find it difficult to figure out their path and what in life is really important to them. Everyday Mindfulness gives a structured way to hold yourself accountable to this process. It poses thought-provoking questions that help bring more clarity to life’s path options. This inquiry into principles, beliefs, and passions will help bring about more questions and hopefully open up the mind to life’s possibilities.

This is a book to recommend to anyone interested in learning more about themselves. Self-awareness is a key to happiness and fulfillment in life. Bringing many aspects of your life in sync to accomplish a goal can be attained with self-reflection. Everyday Mindfulness can help bring about a more conscious knowledge of one’s self through this 108-day reflective practice.
